The 2001 Population and Housing Census was undertaken as part of the Year 2000 Round of Population and Housing Censuses for the Carribean Region.
The Turks and Caicos Islands is a member of the CARICOM Regional Census Coordinating Committee.

Through this mechanism, participating countries have agreed to collaborate with regard to census methodology and procedures and the type of tables and statistics to be disseminated.
Census day was 10th September, 2001. This is the reference point for which all
the statistics provided by members of private households and institutions in response to questions contained in the Census Questionnnaires relate. [Read more...]

The Survey of Business Establishments is an annual survey conducted by the Statistical Office. This Survey is designed to collect important information on the financial operations of all business activities conducted in the Islands. [Download brochure here] |

The Survey of Departing Visitors is conducted by the Statistical Office in Collaboration with the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board. This was developed to supplement the Tourism statistics provided by the Tourist Board.
The last survey was administered in June 2004 at the Departure Lounge of Providenciales International Airport. It is planned to conduct this survey on a quarterly basis in succeeding years. [Read more...] |

Swine Flu is a new influenza-like illness (ILI) first detected in Mexico on March 18, 2009. Swine Flu can be spread through contact with infected pigs or environments contaminated with the virus. Human-to-human spread has also been documented and is thought to be transmitted through droplet infection when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
