| The following are the plans and programs of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU):

- Facilitate the development of the national Agriculture Development Policy;
- Coordinate the implementation of Community Development Programs throughout the TCI;
- Complete arrangements to launch the Medium Term Economic and Social Policy Framework for the TCI;
- Oversee preparation of a national Transport Sector Policy;
- Work with European Commission Delegation in Jamaica to complete arrangements for the 9th European Development Fund.

The South Caicos Regatta is a big event in South Caicos. It is an annual island party attracting locals from throughout the islands and adventurous visitors in large fishing yachts. This memorable event is held around the end of May each year.
