Status of 2007/2008 Outputs/Performance Indicators
KEY RESULTS COMMENTS
Introduce an Annual Economic and Social Survey by the beginning of the first quarter of 2008/09. Not completed.
Develop plans for a Research Unit within DEPS, and have first output(s) published by March 2008.
The Research Unit is still a priority even though the project was not started.
Introduce new statistical outputs for Tourism Satellite Accounting and Balance of Payments by March 2009.
Meetings were held with the Tourist Board to advance the Tourism Satellite.
Commence plans for the 2010 Census by Mid-2009.
Staff members have benefited from training on new software and techniques.
Advise on Budget Reform in the TCI to be completed by March 2008 as part of overall strengthening of the Ministry of Finance, and improving budget preparation and implementation in line Ministries.
Ongoing.
In collaboration with Budget Office, prepare a Budget Preparation Manual by Oct. 2007 to guide departments in formulating their inputs for the annual budget exercise.
Not completed. Presentations made at the Budget Launch Seminar still need to be collated and disseminated.
Facilitate reviews of and preparation of new cooperation frameworks with key development partners by December 2009, following completion and adoption of National Development Plan.
New co-operation framework was entered into with the United Nations Development Programme.
Facilitate and advise on preparation of new borrowing agreement with HMG by March 2008.
Ongoing.
Facilitate review of the developmental impact of Community Development Projects by March 2008.
Work in progress.
Participate in formulating plans (mandate, business plan, legal framework, organizational structure) for the proposed Turks and Caicos Islands Development Agency.
Not completed.
Facilitate implementation of agreed recommendations of Transport Sector Policy, including an options study on the Caicos Islands Spine Road to be completed by March 2008.

Swine Flu is a new influenza-like illness (ILI) first detected in Mexico on March 18, 2009. Swine Flu can be spread through contact with infected pigs or environments contaminated with the virus. Human-to-human spread has also been documented and is thought to be transmitted through droplet infection when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
