Deputy Premier Hall says the country has begun to diversify its industry and has begun to reach out to other parts of the world. He says, “We have begun to establish economic and tourism links with new areas of the world Singapore, Europe, China and Dubai. This week, officials of the tourist board are attending a tourism conference in Russia, which is exerting its self as a major economic player in the world.
Governor Richard Tauwhare told workshop participants that the ten-year plan is inclusive, empowering for Belongers and it seeks to protect the environment. He says it’s a good road map for the future.
The Honorable Premier, Michael Misick, says it is important for the government to seek the views of the general public about matters of national importance. He says that the development of our country is the ultimate important issue for consultation and that is why all of the stakeholders have been brought together to offer another round of suggestions about the plan.
The United Nations Development Bank representative, David Smith, says that it is important to remember that while this ten-year development plan is a great start for TCI it is not ‘written in stone’ and can be changed to keep up with the changing economic times.
The two day workshop comes to an end Thursday.
