Description:
This Report gives a brief introduction on the geography and history of the Turks and Caicos
Islands; reflects on the earlier censuses and comments on the statutory authority governing the
conduct of the Census. The aim of such a report is to provide a comprehensive account of all the activities involved in
the achievement of the important objective of Census taking and to aid in the planning and
execution of the next and other Censuses in view of the lessons learnt from the 2001 Census.

The South Caicos Regatta is a big event in South Caicos. It is an annual island party attracting locals from throughout the islands and adventurous visitors in large fishing yachts. This memorable event is held around the end of May each year.
