Description:
This report was done to identify policies, strategies, action programmes
and projects that would reduce the extent and severity of poverty in the
Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs) and improve the overall quality of life
in the Region. The assessments emphasized analyses of the poverty situation,
the processes which generate and maintain conditions conducive to poverty,
existing responses to the poverty situation and the means available for
more vigorous and effective actions to reduce poverty.

Swine Flu is a new influenza-like illness (ILI) first detected in Mexico on March 18, 2009. Swine Flu can be spread through contact with infected pigs or environments contaminated with the virus. Human-to-human spread has also been documented and is thought to be transmitted through droplet infection when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
